HLSIA will be hosting a publication facility as part of our new bookstore feature. This publication facility will provide an important service for our members and website visitors, as follows:

First, authors of publications will be able to post their reports, articles and discussion papers dealing with homeland security issues on our website www.hlsia.org. For each document downloaded, the author or his/her designee will receive payment for their intellectual property. The author will determine the download fee and will receive at least two-thirds of all revenues generated. HLSIA does “reprints” of publications that may be already published elsewhere. We do this, with permission, to increase the author’s exposure but more importantly to increase public awareness and circulation of important information. Authors interested in participating in this program should send their documents in MS Word format to pub@hlsia.org. If we determine that the proposed publication is consistent with our mission as a non profit organization; we will contact you and provide detailed information regarding publication terms.

Secondly, members and visitors to our website will find information organized according to threat characterizations, e.g. critical infrastructure, nuclear, chemical, biological threats etc... This will facilitate research into areas of interest and documents can be obtained easily in PDF format. Moreover, all current members of HLSIA will receive generous discounts on all documents downloaded from our website.

Finally, we welcome suggestions on ways to improve our website to foster focused research into homeland security threats and appropriate response. This includes analysis and advocacy of policy and procedural reforms as well as application of dual-use technologies which can be readily adapted to meet current and/or anticipated threats from terrorism.
